As part of the Year 8 Healthy Lifestyles unit for Project Week, the groups have been finding out about the amounts of sugar, fat, salt that are in many of the foods we all eat. Also they have been learning about how important it is to read the labels on food products in order to gain the correct information about what they are eating. They have also had the opportunity to make some products which specifically use less fat, sugar and salt.

On Thursday afternoon, 8 Yellow were privileged to have a session with Keith Terry, a chef and lecturer at Penwith College who did a demonstration. Mr Terry showed the group how easy it was to make their own fish fingers and pot noodles from scratch and without the addition of additives. He also had some tomato ketchup which had an amazing taste and no added SUGAR which went well with the fish fingers.

Mr Terry surprised the group by having samples of a chocolate cake which were made without having sugar, fat and flour and they were delicious!
