STEAM Careers Fair

Students had an exciting opportunity to attend a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) Careers Fair held in school with over 50 exhibitors attending from local and national colleges and universities, the Armed Forces, employers including Great Western Railway, Pendennis Shipyard, Serco, Walker Moyle Accountants and Western Power to name a few. Students engaged really well with the interactive stands and spoke inquisitively with the exhibitors enabling them to gain an insight into entry requirements for degree courses, the shortage of STEM skills in the labour market, learn about apprenticeship / work experience opportunities and the range of college and university courses from Product Design, Forensic Science to Games Development. Creative skills were demonstrated through employers such as The Exchange Art Gallery, H Tempest, Digital Peninsula Network and 3D Kenow demonstrating the marvels of 3D printing.
